Caustic Soda

Caustic soda is used Genesis Alkali manufactures chemical-grade caustic soda, or sodium hydroxide (NaOH), which is produced by reacting soda ash with lime. Our caustic soda is available in bulk as a 50% liquid solution.

 

What It’s Used For

Caustic soda is used as the primary strong base in the chemical industry. Applications include cleaning, detergent production, water treatment, oil drilling, fuel processing, pulp and paper manufacturing, biodiesel production, food preparation, and more. 

Our caustic soda meets all requirements of the American Water Works Standard ANSI/AWWA B501-03. It has also been tested and certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN-60 for use in drinking water pH adjustment applications. It is a non-food-grade product containing no allergens, sensitizing agents, sulfites, or monosodium glutamate.

How It’s Transported

Caustic soda is available in bulk quantities as a 50% liquid solution and can be shipped by specialty tank railcar or specialty tanker truck.

How It’s Made

Genesis Alkali manufactures chemical-grade caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), which is produced by reacting soda ash with lime to make a 10% solution that is concentrated by evaporation to produce our 50% caustic solution product.
